Independent Operators

What keeps you up at night? For most independent operators it is controlling costs, everything from labor to worker’s comp and, of course, rising food costs. We work with independent operators who are struggling to monitor and control the escalating costs of their food and beverage. As an independent business owner, by definition, you have to wear multiple hats, so purchasing is just one of many jobs. You wish there was a way that you could be sure that you are getting the best deal possible from your distributors.

Are some of these statements true for you?

  • “I am getting overwhelmed by the rising costs of staying in business. I wish there was a way to have some control over some of these costs”.
  • “I have to compete, more and more each day, against national chains that have a great advantage in purchasing power. I wish there was a way to level the playing field, so I could compete head to head”.
  • “As a small business owner I don’t have the time to get involved in truly managing the cost of goods coming in the door. I wonder if there is really a way to be sure that I am getting the best deals possible on a regular basis.”

So, what if there was a source for you to tap into, where you were confident that you were getting the best price possible, on all items, every day?

These types of clients are most likely to be successful working with us if:

  • They allow us to perform an audit to identify where their purchasing programs stands today.
  • They are open to bundling their purchases to a primary distributor to increase their purchasing leverage and to obtain a program comparable to a chain account.
  • They recognize that “spread-sheeting” or “cherry-picking” their suppliers is a time-consuming activity that delivers only short term pricing advantages, with no guarantees of long term benefits.
  • Realize that they can’t know everything – but are willing to get assistance and expand their knowledge and expertise.
  • You are willing to invest in yourself and in your business, realizing that this is the best investment you can make for your future.
